Alissa Rose

My name is Alissa and I’m a volunteer coordinator from Cerritos in Southern California. I love to sing while playing the guitar, ukulele or accordion. I go Israeli folk dancing, which I have done for over 40 years. I recently retired from teaching students with special needs and started to crochet.  I enjoy making items for my one year old granddaughter Noa and spending time with her.

Volunteer Coordinator
Tim Gibson

My name is Tim and I am a volunteer at LAI.  I live in a high-rise building in downtown Brooklyn NY, with my cat Oscar.  I am retired from the airline and travel business and have visited 158 countries.

Volunteer Coordinator
Lois Fusco

Hi, I'm Lois, a volunteer coordinator from one of the New England states. My professional career primarily was dedicated to helping nonprofits promote themselves, so it should come as no surprise that I now spend so much time volunteering! A fun fact about me is that my work took me to many, major U.S. cities, as well as abroad. I am fortunate to have had such opportunities to travel at a time when it was much easier to do so!

Volunteer Coordinator
Ellen Rabinowitz

My name is Ellen and I'm a retired occupational therapist.  I moved to Denver from NYC 12 years ago and my east coast accent still amuses the locals.  I enjoy reading, crossword puzzles, swimming, old movies, anything animal-related and volunteering in my pajamas!  I volunteer/send correspondence for one national and two local non-profits besides LAI...sometimes I feel like I'm single-handedly trying to save the U.S. Postal Service!  I look forward to meeting more of our fantastic volunteers in my new role!
