Letter Writing & Decoration Inspiration #1

Updated: Sep 26, 2020

To conclude a spectacular week, we wanted to start a series that gives our volunteers ideas about what to write and how to decorate their letters and cards!

Here are some ideas of what you can write about. Some of these suggestions come from our wonderful volunteers!

  1. Tell them why you are writing to them.

  2. Write a quote! Whether it is about motivation, mindset, or just something that inspired you, we know your recipient will love it!

  3. Share with them things you are doing to keep busy during self-isolation.

  4. Tell them things to look forwards to (like warm weather and better days).

  5. Remind them that people (like YOU) are thinking of them!

  6. Tell them something funny that has happened to you recently.

  7. Tell them something new that you have tried whilst you have been in isolation. Encourage them to try something new too!

  8. Wish them a good day.

  9. Make them a to-do list for their day filled with positive suggestions.

  10. Remind them to take care of themself!

Here are just a few of the 119 letters that were sent this week! We hope these inspire you to create something that our senior friends will love!

Thank you to Reagan, Haesol, and Beatriz for sending us photos of your creations!

Send YOUR photos to lettersagainstisolation@gmail.com for the chance to be featured!

Thank you for volunteering! YOU are making such a big impact in our fight against senior loneliness!

Please share our website and Instagram with friends and family! We are always looking for new volunteers!
